Reviews!

To any authors/publishers/ tour companies that are looking for the reviews that I signed up for please know this is very hard to do. I will be stopping reviews temporarily. My husband passed away February 1st and my new normal is a bit scary right now and I am unable to concentrate on a book to do justice to the book and authors. I will still do spotlight posts if you wish it is just the reviews at this time. I apologize for this, but it isn't fair to you if I signed up to do a review and haven't been able to because I can't concentrate on any books. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. I appreciate all of you. Kathleen Kelly April 2nd 2024

The House on Sunset by Lindsay Fischer Virtual Book Tour!

 The House on Sunset
By Lindsay Fischer
Genre: Memoir

Lindsay Fischer was once a high school English teacher with dreams stretching far outside the classroom. When her boyfriend of a year-and-a-half cheated on her, Lindsay found herself alone, looking online for a replacement. His name was Mike.
That’s where the nightmare started.
The House on Sunset is a memoir, a collection of reminiscences, scattering the ashes of two broken homes and putting them to rest. Each chapter offers a different glimpse inside the cycle of intimate partner violence, where honeymoon phases and traumas coexist.
Everyone could fall victim to abusers. This book bravely displays the reasons a quirky, twenty-something teacher would, and did.

Author Bio:
Lindsay Fischer graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education, English. An avid reader and learner, Lindsay took her passion for words into a classroom before starting a writing career. Life pulled her from the classroom, providing an opportunity to use her voice against domestic violence, blogging under the pseudonym, Sarafina Bianco, since 2009.
You can find her words at survivorswillbeheard.com and speak directly to her when she hosts #domesticviolencechat on Twitter. Lindsay hopes to be an advocate for women, men and children who still live inside the nightmare of their abuse.
She currently lives with her husband and three dogs, including Watson, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Then they attacked the water supply, killing one-third of Earth's population with a bitter contaminate. emurderer tour banner

e-Murderer copy

On this anything but typical Monday morning Jenna Scali, who works part-time for a shrink, opens an email that depicts the brutal death of a young girl. On that same day the police uncover a dead coed two blocks from Jenna’s house. The e-murderer’s description creepily echos the death described in the newspapers. When Jenna receives other emails, she takes what she knows to the police and thus begins her journey in the path of the e-murderer. Her curious nature impels her from e-messages to dead coeds to a ring of prostitutes. With the help of her quirky friends, Jenna learns that she’s more than a conduit for the killer. She’s his target. New secrets unfold, and finally her love life takes a tumble when the true killer emerges. THE E-MURDERER is a race to find a psychotic killer before he kills again. This new mystery series with a young female sleuth promises to keep you glued to your seat until the last page.

Excerpt 4 from e-Murderer

I snagged the only available parking space in front of the Five Points Drug
Store, which also served as a post office.

The door opened with a loud swish. Our neighborhood druggist hollered at me from the other side of the counter.

“Hiya, Jenna. Whatcha been up to?”

“School, work. You know, Artie, the usual exciting stuff.”

I headed for the greeting cards to purchase one for Starr. After opening several, I selected one that read: At your age, calories no longer count. Inside was a picture of a gray-haired grandma, smeared from head to toe in birthday cake.

“This heat is awful. Hopefully we’ll get more rain this week,” Artie said.

I put the card on the counter along with the mail from the office. “I had enough rain last night to keep me a month.”

He wiped his glasses. “Yeah, that was quite a gully-washer, but what we need is a slow steady rain or my grass is gonna dry up and disappear. How’s the neighborhood shrink? Still treating you right?”

“The best.”

“Mrs. Bingham was in here yesterday. She’s quite a busy lady. My wife says
the Binghams never eat supper together anymore, what with her working at night and all. People say her PR business is doing real well even though—”

“Dr. Bingham never complains,” I cut in, and put a few bills on the counter
next to the mail.
“Nope, you’d not catch me complaining about eating overcooked meatloaf
night after night if my wife looked like Mrs. Bingham. That’d make it worth the trouble.” He posted the mail and handed me my change with a leer he quickly changed to a half-smile. “She’s quite a lovely little thing, eh?”

Jealousy rose inside me. I bit my lip. My dislike for Dr. Bingham’s wife
probably had everything to do with the fact that she was as Artie put it, “a lovely little thing.” At no more than five-two, Beth Bingham looked more like a child than a forty-year-old woman. When I’d first met her, my petty self decided her luscious blond hair had to be dyed. No one had hair that yellow unless they were two years old.

“You’re a dirty old man, Artie.” I pocketed my change, clutched the card to my chest, and left.

Cover your gray® Touch Up Hair Color Products Review!

Cover your gray® offers effective, versatile and affordable solutions for covering gray hair and re-growth to extend time between color services. Our products are reliable, easy to use products that come in a wide array of formats to meet all your hair color touch up needs
I received the following three products for review,I

used the products over the course of a few days and I found

them to be very good products. It takes less time than the

traditional hair dye process but this is not a hair dye, but

a temporary fix as it lasts through three washings. The

product works like it says it will. I do not have a lot of

gray, I am 62 and just starting to get those few pesky gray

hairs. I received the Dark Brown product as that is about

the closest to my own color. All of the products reviewed

are water, sweat and rain proof. The color matched my own

pretty well and they seem to be hypoallergenic.

Like I stated before, these products do what they claim they do in

covering up gray hair, product goes on easy and lasts.

Brush-In Waterproof Hair Color Touch Up is perfect for hiding stray grays in the part and around the temples.  Brush In applicator makes it easy to cover grays exactly where you need to, when you need it. I used this one for touch up on my temples and in the part of my hair near the root. Covered it right up!

Hair Color Touch-Up Waterproof Pencil covers larger areas of gray in the roots, temples or hairline with an easy to use pencil format that provides precision application. This product was also easy to use and it takes a little bit longer as it is for larger areas of hair.

Precision Waterproof Root Color Touch Up is for areas requiring heavier yet targeted coverage closer to the scalp. The applicator provides heavier coverage for areas of gray hair or re-growth in the temples, part or around the forehead. This one I used for areas, not around the part but more on the sides of my head.

Three Days in April, a Thriller by Edward Ashton Book Feature!

Title: Three Days in April
Author: Edward Ashton
Publisher: Harper Voyager Impulse
Genre: Mystery/Suspense
Format: Kindle

Anders Jensen is having a bad month. His roommate is a data thief, his girlfriend picks fights in bars, and his best friend is a cyborg…and a lousy tipper. When everything is spiraling out of control, though, maybe those are exactly the kind of friends you need.

In a world divided between the genetically engineered elite and the unmodified masses, Anders is an anomaly: engineered, but still broke and living next to a crack house. All he wants is to land a tenure-track faculty position, and maybe meet someone who's not technically a criminal—but when a nightmare plague rips through Hagerstown, Anders finds himself dodging kinetic energy weapons and government assassins as Baltimore slips into chaos. His friends aren't as helpless as they seem, though, and his girlfriend's street-magician brother-in-law might be a pretentious hipster—or might hold the secret to saving them all.

Frenetic and audacious, Three Days in April is a speculative thriller that raises an important question: once humanity goes down the rabbit hole, can it ever find its way back?

THE ITALIAN WIFE Author Kate Furnivall Spotlight

THE ITALIAN WIFE
Author Kate Furnivall
(Berkley Trade Paperback Original;
$16.00; October 6, 2015
978-0-425-28138-3),

About THE ITALIAN WIFE
Isabella Berotti is an architect, creating showpieces that will reflect the glory of her country’s Fascist leaders. She is not deeply political, but designing these buildings of such grandiose beauty helps her forget her husband's murder a decade ago. One of her greatest accomplishments is the clock tower in the town of Bellina, outside of Rome.

But as she is admiring it one day, a woman approaches her, asking her to watch her young daughter. Minutes later, the woman leaps to her death from the very tower, right in front of Isabella.

Moments later, Roberto Falco, a propaganda photographer for Il Duce, takes photos of the woman’s body. Roberto is expected to show his country in the most flattering light, however, what he and Isabella have witnessed reflects a more brutal reality. As they seek the truth of the woman's death, Isabella will discover the real cost of loving her country—and of loving a man whose secrets may prove him to be her greatest enemy.

The Author
Kate Furnivall didn't set out to be a writer. It sort of grabbed her by the throat when she discovered the story of her grandmother - a White Russian refugee who fled from the Bolsheviks down into China. That extraordinary tale inspired her first book, The Russian Concubine. From then on, she was hooked.

Kate is the author of eight novels, including The Russian Concubine, The White Pearl and The Italian Wife. Her books have been translated into more than twenty languages and have been on the New York Times Bestseller list.
