Reviews!

To any authors/publishers/ tour companies that are looking for the reviews that I signed up for please know this is very hard to do. I will be stopping reviews temporarily. My husband passed away February 1st and my new normal is a bit scary right now and I am unable to concentrate on a book to do justice to the book and authors. I will still do spotlight posts if you wish it is just the reviews at this time. I apologize for this, but it isn't fair to you if I signed up to do a review and haven't been able to because I can't concentrate on any books. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. I appreciate all of you. Kathleen Kelly April 2nd 2024

The Beautifully Creative Inspired Link Party!! Fridays, 9am

Welcome to the launch of The Beautifully Creative Inspired Link Party - this is a weekly party where bloggers and readers can be inspired by creative, informational and fun posts from tons of blogs around the web. You will find yummy recipes, awesome creative projects and many more. It is also a great way to meet and mingle with bloggers you find here. Best of all, the posts you share at this link party will be shown on 5 different blogs! Can you say “Show me the Traffic!”

We are so glad to have everyone (new visitors and returning party goers from City of Links - Link Party) joining us this week and I am especially glad to have these lovely ladies hosting this party with me.

For this weeks post I will introduce myself, bear with me here, this is the first of this type of post I have done, it will be kind of exciting getting to know a few other people. I am Irish so I tend to get a bit wordy.

My name is Kathleen Kelly (Celticlady on my blogs)
This week like any other is pretty easy, I have a pretty nonstressfull life! I do not work as I am disabled, but spend most of the days on the computer going through my upwards of 300 emails a day.

I am 62 years old, hubby and I will be celebrating out 33rd wedding anniversary next week. Together we have his, mine and ours, meaning I had 2 children from a previous marriage, he had two children from a previous marriage and we had two together. So that makes 6 children and between us there are 7 grandchildren.

I had worked at a nursing home for almost 25 years, but I had to retire due to some health issues. That happened in 2009 and to keep myself busy, I started my blog Celticlady's Reviews. I started out pretty slow only doing a few posts a day. Now there are days that I can do 10 posts a day. I have reviewed and rated almost 800 books/product reviews in that time frame, I love to read and I have found some wonderful authors out there.

A few months ago I decided I wanted to monetize my blog and started out placing ads on my blog. That has not really taken off, but I have also started doing product reviews. That has been interesting to say the least, I have been getting an assortment of products to review, from skin care to coffee presses. It is a lot of fun. I also maintain two other blogs, Celticlady's Kitchen and Celticlady's Book Recommendations.
Because of the reviews I spend a lot of time on social media, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads, Amazon etc.

Hubby and I love to travel, haven't done a lot lately due to hubby getting treated for cancer, he is a survivor now, but we have been to Canada numerous times, made it to Niagra Falls, Mount Rushmore and Devil's Tower. We have traveled to Ireland twice and to the Dominican Republic. We have a son who recently got married and he is now living in the DR.

We have a daughter and her wife in Florida, they are currently fostering three children. We have a daughter with her Marine hubby and two children living in North Carolina and we have a daughter who moved back home about a year and a half ago, she will be moving out within the next couple weeks, I will miss her but she will only be an hour away so that is alright. I will be visiting North Carolina in October/November for three weeks! So excited!

So, what happened this week? I had a bit of a scare, had a mammogram done last week and I received the dreaded phone call, had to have more imaging done. Good news, though, everything is ok, which was a huge relief. Being a caregiver to someone who has been treated certainly was not a fun thing to do and I hated to think of my hubby having to care for me. So I want to stress how important to have mammograms and colonoscopies done after a certain age.

This week on my blog I posted a lot, from reviews to blogger opportunities. Here is a link to a book review I did this week,

I love to cook and bake and do a lot of it, this week I made Raspberry Streusel Bars and Sausage Potato Bake, ask if you want the recipes.
